ICAP

2012 has been a momentous year for global health. Through the contributions of so many organizations and individuals, together we have continued to make significant progress addressing the world’s greatest health challenges, including HIV/AIDS and maternal and child health, among others.

Throughout the world, many leaders are doing their part to ensure that health issues are top national priorities and are on the international agenda. Inspiration and guidance has come from many directions: from the Blueprint for an AIDS-Free Generation launched by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to UNAID’s Getting to Zero campaign and the Global Plan Towards the Elimination of New HIV Infections. We are also energized by the recent United Nations adoption of the ‘Moving Towards Universal Health Coverage’ resolution, a critical step against health inequality and poverty.

Yet, leaders are everywhere around us. From the student nurses in Malawi to laboratory technicians in Kazakhstan to peer counselors in Zanzibar, all are leading and contributing to the health of their communities.

As another fruitful year draws to a close, ICAP extends a heartfelt thanks to all of our partners. We are grateful for their dedication and contributions to transforming the lives of individuals. While we are cognizant of the work ahead in the quest for achieving the health and well being of communities around the world, we are filled with optimism for a healthy and productive 2013. Thank you for your continued effort and partnership.

Happy holidays and best wishes for a successful and healthy new year!
