The ZIMPHIA 2020 study, launched in Harare last year, has completed its first phase with a high response rate.
Phase one covered Manicaland, Mashonaland East, Matabeleland North, Mashonaland Central and Matabeleland South. The other provinces, including the two metropolitan provinces of Bulawayo and Harare, will be included in phase two, which launched at the beginning of January.
The ZIMPHIA 2020 survey is supported by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). ZIMPHIA 2020 aims to measure the country’s progress toward the UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals, and will guide policy and funding priorities.
