On Tuesday, April 18, our April ICAP Grand Rounds webinar introduced strategies and best practices for addressing health misinformation and reducing its spread online.

Prof. Emily K. Vraga, Don and Carole Larson Professor in Health Communication at the University of Minnesota’s Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Her research tests methods to identify and correct misinformation on social media, to build news literacy to improve audience resiliency, and to encourage attention to more diverse content online. Vraga has published over 80 journal articles in the interdisciplinary fields of communication, political science, journalism, and public health. Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Andrew Carnegie Corporation, and she has worked with international health organizations and social media platforms to improve efforts to address misinformation online. Vraga and her research have appeared on major media outlets, including National Public Radio, Scientific American, The Washington Post, and The Atlantic.
