Wafaa El-Sadr, MD, MPH, MPA, global director of ICAP, was quoted in an Oct 5 article in The Hour discussing the closure of several NYC schools in communities experiencing an increase in COVID cases. Dr. El-Sadr touched on the importance of bringing community leaders together to promote public health efforts:
“Getting community leaders on board to spread a trusted message makes a huge difference and [it] hasn’t happened enough so far. We need many more of these community champions if we are going to get to the point where we need to be.”
