ICAP’s Jessica Justman, MD, senior technical director, was quoted on Nov 12 by the Gothamist, about the impact of school closures on families in light of the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases in New York City. Parents who want schools to stay open also said they were worried their kids will suffer more unnecessary upheaval during an already tumultuous school year. Dr. Justman says:
“I can see the rationale for keeping schools open a little longer and keeping a very close eye on surveillance on schools.”
