Jessica Justman, MD, ICAP’s senior technical director, spoke to Columbia News, emphasizing that even though the country is likely to enter a second wave of COVID-19. Individuals can mitigate risks to themselves and their communities-at-large by continuing to practice well-established personal protection measures including social distancing and wearing masks.

“I’m hopeful that enough people will wear masks and practice social distancing most of the time and flatten these additional waves…Although we have learned a great deal about this virus in the first half of 2020, there are still many unknowns. We have to hope for the best and be prepared for the worst.”
