Programmatic Support Award (PSA)

Building on over 15 years of partnership between ICAP at Columbia University, PEPFAR, and CDC, the Programmatic Support Award provides rapid, flexible technical support to accelerate evidence-based HIV prevention and treatment program implementation and align health systems strengthening activities. Providing technical assistance to three provincial health offices to strengthen services at 571 health facilities, with a focus on improving case identification and linkage to treatment, TB/HIV management, retention in care and treatment, viral load coverage and suppression, pediatric and adolescent services, integration of quality-improvement methodologies, and data quality assurance. This project will also strengthen and support PEPFAR and non-PEPFAR facilities, including improving the quality of laboratories, antiretroviral therapy facilities, and HIV testing facilities.

El Salvador

El Salvador is working steadily to close gaps along the HIV prevention and care cascade, making it difficult for the country to reach 95-95-95 goals. ICAP is working in collaboration with the CDC, the Ministry of Health, PEPFAR-implementers, civil society groups, and other partners to improve current practices to fast-track local capacity to meet national, PEPFAR, and UNAIDS goals by implementing innovative, effective, and comprehensive capacity-building strategies that strengthen service delivery and human resources for health 

Guatemala

ICAP is supporting other PEPFAR implementing partners to close gaps along Guatemala’s HIV care cascade. ICAP coordinates with the CDC, the Ministry of Health, PEPFAR-implementers, civil society groups, and other partners to improve current practices in HIV care and treatment to fast-track local capacity to meet national, PEPFAR, and UNAIDS goals by implementing innovative, effective, and comprehensive capacity-building strategies that strengthen service delivery and human resources for health.

Honduras

In Honduras, ICAP’s strong coordination with the Ministry of Health allows moving new interventions, such as HIV recency surveillance, pre-exposure prophylaxis implementation, and updating antiretroviral therapy guidelines, to improve the uptake of medication and the management of advanced HIV disease.  

Zambia

This project will also strengthen and support PEPFAR and non-PEPFAR facilities, including improving the quality of laboratories, antiretroviral therapy facilities, and HIV testing facilities.

Haiti

ICAP worked toward HIV program objectives in line with the global 95-95-95 targets and implemented robust, high-quality HIV services to strengthen HIV testing services, antiretroviral treatment (ART) initiation and retention, with the goal of achieving stable HIV viral load (VL) suppression among people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Haiti.

Philippines

ICAP is working in the  Philippines in Regions VII and XI to support HIV support HIV care, treatment, and laboratory programs, with a focus on HIV case-finding and prevention activities. We will work in public health facilities to optimize HIV treatment among PLHIV, specifically key populations, and retain clients on care (second 90). In addition, ICAP will support the expansion of viral load testing and increase the number of viral load tests conducted by the government (third 90). We will also support above-site-level activities, including strengthening national M&E systems, implementing an integrated bio-behavioral survey, facilitating clinical training, implementing case-based surveillance, and developing national MAT guidelines.

This project will also strengthen and support PEPFAR and non-PEPFAR facilities, including improving the quality of laboratories, antiretroviral therapy facilities, and HIV testing facilities.

Cameroon

In Cameroon, ICAP works with key stakeholders and local partners to build healthcare workforce capacity to develop, support, and sustain progress towards achieving the UNAIDS

Colombia,  Peru, Panamá, Myanmar,

South Sudan

In South Sudan, starting in October 2020, ICAP began supporting HIV prevention, care, and treatment and prevention-of-mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) services in 65 health facilities in 5 states (Central, Eastern, Western, Equatoria, Lakes, and Western Baher Gahzal).
