ICAP at Columbia University received Phase II of the Fleming Fund Country Grant (FFCG) from the UK Department of Health and Social Services to support the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini (GKOE) to strengthen surveillance systems using a One Health approach. Building on investments made during Phase I (April 2020-January 2024), the Phase II of the FFCG was implemented from February 2024 to December 2025 scaling up the support from six sentinel sites to 10 sentinel sites which includes six hospitals under the Ministry of Health (MOH), two sites in the Animal Health sector, one plant/ crop research site under the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), and Water Laboratory under the Department of Water Affairs in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy (MNRE). ICAP an implementing partner of FFCG closely worked with the AMR Containment Committee (AMRCC), a multi-sectoral group of experts, who oversee the implementation of the National AMR Strategy in the Country.
