Results from the Rwanda Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (RPHIA) showed remarkable progress toward achieving HIV epidemic control, particularly in attaining high levels of linkage to treatment and viral load suppression among people living with HIV.
The RPHIA results topped a list of Rwanda’s health sector milestones in 2019. Others included advances in surgical technology and expertise, improvements in outcomes for premature babies, the fight against Ebola, pharmaceutical and medical supply delivery via drone, and the ICASA conference held in Kigali.
