Susan Michaels-Strasser, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN, spoke on the SiriusXM Stars (Channel 109) about a series of issues affecting the spread and management of the corona virus. Michaels-Strasser explained why public health has historically been used as a political tool and the important role each individual plays in minimizing the spread of the disease.
“When you let a virus run it is extremely hard to pull it back, as we saw in New York, but once it’s out there it takes even more difficult measures to rein it in and that requires the community to come together, and if the community does not come together to modify their behavior then it just gets worse.”
