This week, nine Next Generation interns will travel to Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Swaziland to work with local ICAP-supported programs.
ICAP’s “Next Generation Program”:http://www.icap.columbia.edu/student-center/internships/ is a multidisciplinary training initiative that provides hands-on internships in global health to students enrolled in a variety of academic programs including public health, medicine, nursing, dentistry, social work, and business at Columbia University and at other institutions.
For a period of two to six months, they will be learning from global health experts, gaining valuable professional and cultural experience, while participating in the design, implementation, and evaluation of global health initiatives. Every student works closely with a mentor prior to departure and while in country.
