Leading the way: Rwanda’s groundbreaking achievements in reaching UNAIDS global HIV targets ahead of time

Rwanda has emerged as a global leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS, demonstrating that a comprehensive, inclusive, and innovative response can significantly reduce the burden of the epidemic. By achieving the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets ahead of the 2030 deadline, Rwanda has set a precedent for other nations, showcasing that commitment, political will, and community-centered approaches can transform public health outcomes. This session seeks to highlight Rwanda’s journey, focusing on the strategies, policies, and partnerships that contributed to these successes. It also aims to inspire and inform global stakeholders on how to replicate and scale up these best practices in their contexts.
