ICAP has appointed Felix Ndagije, MD, as its country director for Lesotho.
Dr. Ndagije served as interim chief of party for ICAP in Lesotho from July through December 2018, managing a number of key technical and representational requirements in Maseru, with his new role commencing on January 1, 2019.
In Lesotho, Dr. Ndagije oversees a robust programmatic and research portfolio, including a number of studies on pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and HIV/TB, particularly among miners and their families. He manages a country team of approximately 50 staff.
“Felix’s many years of experience working with ministries of health, CDC, PEPFAR implementing partners, and United Nations agencies, combined with his broad technical expertise in HIV/TB, maternal and child health programs, and health systems strengthening, give him the ideal credentials to head ICAP’s office in Lesotho,” said Wafaa El-Sadr, MD, MPH, MPA, ICAP’s global director.
Dr. Ndagije first joined ICAP as an evaluation and research advisor in Rwanda in 2005. He re-joined ICAP in Lesotho in May 2016 as a technical consultant, and in October 2016 he pivoted to serve as a regional technical advisor for clinical and training, supporting a number of projects in multiple ICAP countries.
Dr. Ndagije earned his medical degree from the National University of Rwanda and he possesses an MSc in Tropical Pediatrics and Child Health from the University of Liverpool.
