Felix Kayigamba, MD, MPH, PhD

Dr. Felix Kayigamba is a physician and public health specialist with more than 15 years’ experience.

Dr. Kayigamba was appointed Chief of Party for ICAP in Malawi in June 2019. From January 2018 to June 2019, Dr. Kayigamba served as the Technical Director for ICAP in Rwanda. Between 2015-2018, he served as Technical Director for ICAP in Swaziland and supported other ICAP country teams in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Haiti by providing technical assistance to PHIA project teams.

Between 2003-2009 Dr. Kayigamba worked for the Rwandan Ministry of Health as a medical director for Ruhengeri Hospital in the Northern Province before working with CDC-Rwanda from 2009-2011 as a public health specialist. Before joining ICAP, Dr Kayigamba worked as a Country Director for the Access Project, an affiliate of the Earth institute at Columbia University. His interests include research in public health and health systems strengthening programs.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Human Medicine and Master of Public Health degree from the National University of Rwanda. Dr. Kayigamba also has a PhD in Public Health from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
