Carlos Laudari, MD, MPH

Dr. Carlos Laudari is ICAP’s Country Director in Angola and has over 35 years of experience in the field of international health, having worked in over 20 countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

Dr. Laudari’s expertise includes sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV/AIDS; community development; project and program development, management, monitoring and evaluation; adolescent health; contraceptive technology; behavior change communication; gender issues, including male involvement; combination prevention of HIV among key populations; harm reduction; integration of HIV into SRH programs; and advocacy for sexual and reproductive rights.

Before joining ICAP, Dr. Laudari spent 17 years with UNFPA as chief technical adviser to the Angola National Reproductive Health Program and as regional adviser on sexual and reproductive health for the Southern Africa Region. He also worked with Pathfinder International in Brazil for fifteen years as country representative and as senior technical adviser in HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Laudari is an obstetrician/gynecologist trained at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. He also holds a master’s degree in public health from the Mailman School at Columbia University.
