ICAP

Against the backdrop of the daunting coronavirus pandemic that has reshaped the global health landscape, ICAP at Columbia University’s updated visual identity signals a newly energized organizational commitment to advancing global public health through science, innovation, and partnership.

Since its founding in 2003 as a center at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, ICAP has worked in the U.S. and more than 30 countries around the world to strengthen health systems, support the training of health workforces, conduct research to address relevant questions, and measure the effectiveness and impact of health programs to guide policies and investment.

ICAP’s updated logo (shown here) features a distinctive blue wedge that symbolizes ICAP’s central mission to advance health in the communities where it works.

At the same time, the forward-facing beacon symbolizes ICAP’s commitment to shining a light on accurate scientific knowledge, producing evidence-based solutions, and scaling them up to achieve impact.

A major global health organization that has been improving public health in countries around the world for over 15 years, ICAP works to transform the health of populations through innovation, science, and global collaboration. Based at Columbia University in New York City, where it is part of the Mailman School of Public Health, ICAP has projects in more than 30 countries, working side-by-side with ministries of health and local partners to confront some of the world’s toughest health challenges. Through meaningful research, tailored technical assistance, effective training and education programs, and rigorous surveillance to measure and evaluate the impact of public health interventions, ICAP aims to realize a global vision of healthy people, empowered communities, and thriving societies.
