ICAP is working with its partners to strengthen surveillance systems for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), antimicrobial use (AMU), and antimicrobial consumption (AMC) in both the human and animal sectors in Eswatini. This will include overseeing and monitoring surveillance systems and improving the capacity for AMR, AMC/AMU surveillance in the human and animal health sectors. ICAP will work with the University of Eswatini to provide technical support for sample collection and referral, creating awareness on the sound use of antimicrobials for animal health across sectors, developing training materials, and providing expertise in value chain analysis.
