This initiative aimed to address Mozambique’s critical shortage of health care management and administration skills through a unique partnership between the Mailman School of Public Health and the Instituto Superior de Ciências de Saúde (ISCISA), led by ICAP, which resulted in the development of a new launched a four-year undergraduate degree curriculum in Hospital Administration at ISCISA. Subject matter experts from ICAP and the Mailman school ensured that all developed content, course materials, and practica were grounded in the latest health science research to ensure enrolled students receive quality training in health management and administration. Additionally, a significant focus throughout the course of the joint-project was placed on mentorship of ISCISA faculty and staff so they were equipped to sustain the program independently beginning in 2019.
