ICAP has received funding from CDC under the Institutional Capacity Strengthening (ICS) mechanism. In this award, ICAP is working to strengthen institutional capacities of DOH and local stakeholders for implementation of key project interventions, and to propel the enhancement, expansion and acceleration of HIV interventions towards epidemic control in the project regions.
ICAP is working with selected public health facilities and community-based organizations to increase HIV diagnosis among key populations (first 95) by implementing expanded HIV testing strategies, optimizing linkage to care and treatment initiation among PLHIV (second 95), and maintaining individuals in care for viral suppression (third 95) with strengthened case management approaches in health facilities. HIV recency testing was integrated into the country’s case-based surveillance system (OHASIS), along with additional enhancements to support case management activities. New Rapid HIV Diagnostic Algorithm (rHIVda) confirmatory testing laboratories were developed in line with the DOH scale-up plan of at least one facility per province.
