The HPTN 094 randomized controlled trial tested whether delivering integrated health services for opioid use disorder (OUD) and HIV via mobile medical units with peer navigation was more effective than peer navigation alone to community agencies for people who inject drugs. Although the mobile medical unit successfully engaged a marginalized population, there was minimal uptake of treatment for OUD or HIV PrEP in either arm of the study. Nevertheless, people who received integrated care were less likely to die during the study. Additional analyses of data from this study are ongoing.
