The project is aimed at improving the overall health security of the Sierra Leone population. The program supports medium- and long-term health systems strengthening to effectively prevent, detect, respond to, and control infectious disease health threats. ICAP continues to implement the GHSA in Sierra Leone with a focus on developing the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), monitoring the National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS), supporting the operations of the Sierra Leone Epidemiological Database (SLED), operationalizing the training tracker, and infection, prevention and control (IPC). Other critical focus areas of ICAP’s technical assistance to Sierra Leone include technical coordination of the COVID-19 response and COVID-19 vaccination deployment.
