Cutting-Edge HIV Prevention Research

The HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN)

HPTN is a worldwide collaborative clinical trials network that develops and tests the safety and efficacy of interventions designed to prevent the transmission of HIV.

ICAP operates three of the four clinical research sites that form the Columbia Clinical Trials Unit. Through these sites, ICAP currently conducts three HPTN studies in New York City and sub-Saharan Africa that are focused on evaluating safety and efficacy of new HIV prevention methods.
