ICAP

ICAP has announced its fall schedule of Grand Rounds Webinars on topics ranging from birth testing to ARV drug optimization.

Web-conferencing has emerged as an important teaching tool in medical education to connect providers in under-served areas with technical experts from around the globe. ICAPbegan hosting its Grand Rounds Webinar to provide updates on HIV care and treatment, highlight advances in HIV medicine, and promote exchange among public health partners from around the world. The webinars provide ongoing education to health care providers and policy makers seeking to expand high-quality care and improve patient outcomes in countries that are most impacted by HIV.

“It’s an opportunity for ICAP to feature international thought leaders who then share early insights, ideas, and advice with colleagues from around the world,” said Fatima Tsiouris, clinical training officer at ICAP, who leads the series.

The webinar topics cover cutting edge innovations and subjects presented at leading scientific conferences, such as International AIDS Society (IAS) and the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI).

This year, ICAP has featured guest speakers on emerging topics ranging from transgender health and HIV to making viral load monitoring routine, hosted by Dr. Helen Bygrave, HIV/TB Advisor for Medecins San Frontieres.

“It’s an incredible opportunity for sharing practice,” said Dr. Bygrave. “I am definitely going to promote the ICAP webinars amongst my teams.”

Grand Rounds Webinars are held monthly and are open to the public. Upcoming webinars include: Birth Testing (October 11th), Control of Sexually Transmitted Infections (November 15th), and ARV Drug Optimization (December 13th).
