Southern Africa Tuberculosis and Health Systems Support (SATBHSS) Project

Project Details

ICAP, in partnership with MOH, and with support from the World Bank, is helping to strengthen the health sector’s response to TB and occupational lung diseases. This regional project, launched in 2016, represents a paradigm shift in the prevention and treatment of TB at the sub-regional level by creating a multisectoral platform for regionally coordinated actions to deal with the spread of the disease across borders. ICAP is working to improve and strengthen linkages to and retention in TB and HIV care for migrant mine workers. This project supports the implementation of a cross-border notification and referral system and provision of integrated TB/HIV screening, diagnosis, care, and treatment services at points of care within three regional employment offices that miners routinely visit.
