Project Details

The Global Technical Assistance (GTA) Project, funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), was an ambitious, six-year project comprising 62 individual projects across 24 PEPFAR and Global Fund-supported countries on four continents.

In Myanmar, ICAP provided technical assistance across a wide range of initiatives including: new policies, guidelines, approaches, and tools to support HIV care and treatment services; an evaluation of the feasibility and effectiveness of the ECHO telementoring model (Project ECHO); key populations sensitivity training for health care workers; an evaluation of patient retention throughout the HIV care continuum; the development of a national service quality monitoring system (SQMS) tool; and the integration of bio-behavioral surveillance survey (IBBS) protocol.
