November 6, 2021— “The Delta variant is more contagious and we need to get people vaccinated in every country,” said Dr. Jessica Justman, associate professor of Medicine in Epidemiology at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health and senior technical director at ICAP. ”We need to get the vaccine everywhere; in every country. We should be looking at 80 percent or even 85 percent to have good control and that means vaccinating the children which will help fill in the population coverage. If you don’t vaccinate the children you cannot get to that 80-85 percent coverage.
