Dr. Prisca Kasonde is a physician and public health specialist with over 24 years of clinical and program management experience in the areas of HIV/AIDS, STIs, reproductive health, obstetrics and gynecology, and health systems strengthening. She received her medical degree from the Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, as well as a master’s degree in medicine, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, from the University of Zambia. In addition, she received a master’s degree in public health with a focus on HIV/AIDS epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has co-authored over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has practiced as a certified clinical trainer for the past 18 years, building the capacity of health workers across technical areas such as PMTCT, ART, family planning, reproductive health, infection prevention, and obstetrics and gynecology.
