ICAP

ICAP has received an award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through PEPFAR to continue to support the development and expansion of HIV care and treatment services in South Sudan.

Through partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH), ICAP will provide technical assistance to strengthen comprehensive, family-focused HIV care and treatment programs with the goal of increasing access to HIV treatment for adults and children with attention to strengthening health systems.

This project builds on ICAP’s previous work in South Sudan and will aim to expand: a strong continuum of care for people living with HIV; the use of data to inform evidence-based programs; and the development of new health systems, policies and tools for use at national and facility level.

“South Sudan is poised to expand its efforts to reach those who need HIV care and treatment. This award enables us to continue our partnership with the MOH in its efforts to achieve its HIV goals and objectives,” said Dr. Veronique Bortolotti, the project’s principal investigator and deputy director of ICAP’s Clinical Training Unit.

ICAP has been a PEPFAR implementing partner in South Sudan since 2012 providing technical assistance and building the capacity of health care workers, facilities and the MOH to advance HIV care and treatment.
