Wafaa El-Sadr, MD, MPH, MPA, director of ICAP at Columbia University provided a keynote address on August 25th as part of a  two-day course, COVID-19 from Virus to Vaccine: Biological, Clinical, and Public Health Dimensions, provided by the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her presentation helped participants understand critical aspects and implications of the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 Course was co-hosted by the Dean’s Office, the Center for Infection and Immunity, and the Columbia SHARP (Skills for Health and Research Professionals) Training Program.

Other seminars and virtual labs provided by world-class scientists and public health leaders addressed key topics including:

  • Epidemiology of COVID-19 and vulnerable populations
  • Detection, diagnostics, clinical management, and treatment of the illness
